Plan an Escape in...

....Sophia Suites, in Santorini. A recently renovated mansion, originally built more than 150 years ago, turned into a group of luxurious suites where everyone would dream to spend at least a couple of days! Its magnificent rooms and suites are really spacious and wonderfully decorated, combining the contemporary design with the traditional Cycladic architecture and decoration with some moroccan touches... Plus, it offers an uninterrupted volcano-sea view, which allows the visitor feel like "is flying" above this breathtaking view while he is enjoying his breakfast or sunbathing during the day. The visitor can complete the day by relaxing in the hot water of the private hot tub while he is enjoying a chilled glass of the world's awarded local wines watching the stars and the unique Santorinian moon reflected in the sea. The most dreamy spot of this amazing hotel is the indoor cave heated pool, with led lighting, of its honeymoon suite!
Oh... I really would like to spend my holidays there!!!

Stylish family home in Hamburg

A couple live with its son in this two-level home in Hamburg, Germany. As they are fans of the '60s design, they decorated their home combining contemporary pieces with vintage finds. They also achieved to salvage the oak floors to the whole house, which are originals from 1967. On the other hand, they choose a totally contemporary kitchen in black matte color which creates an interesting contrast with the vintage floor and the walls' absolute white. The pieces I love most in this house are the black Eames chairs of the dinning and the white one in the home office as well as the Tom Dixon's pendant lights... I really would like a set of them in my dinning room!!! And finally what about this unique in design cradle in the nursery?

A modern home built in a monastery ruins

In the ruins of a 12th century monastery, situated in a tiny village in Provence France, Roger Anger (a well known French architect) created a unique modern home! He restored the medieval architectural elements of the building (the old brickwork, arches and columns) and he combined then with 18th and 19th century antiques, selected mid century classics and modern materials as steel, glass and cement.
The result is unique... I love so much the contrast of the antique furniture behind the modern dining table with the Eames chairs in the dining room(image 1). I would like also have the opportunity to sit in the Eames lounge chair(image 3), which fits perfectly with the medieval surrounding of the room and gazing for hours at this breathtaking view which is offered from the enormous windows...

Kitchen

A simple contemporary kitchen, enriched with classical pieces of famous designers, give a special result. I like a lot the double row of white cupboards which they serve two purposes; The aesthetic, because they give the impression that the room has high ceiling and the practical as they offer much more storage. The brown row of cupboards "breaks" the white monotony of the space and then the brown-beige patterned tiles unify perfectly the cupboards of different colors.
Very interesting is the dining area with the Eames' white Eiffel chairs, Tulip Inspired Table and the Tom Dixon's Copper Shade pendant light, which allows you to see in it the whole room from its highly reflective surface.

Would you like Tom Dixon's pendant light? See some other here.
Would you like Eames' chairs? You can see them also here and there.

Nursery

What a divine nursery! If you are a fan of vintage it is the best way to decorate your baby's room... I love the combination of the pink vintage crib with the green rocking Eames chair.
I found this lovely crib in sale, in the online French shop "Les Enfants du Design".

Black & White Inspiration

Oh, such a splash of design and inspiration in a small corner!!!
Despite the severity of  the black and white hues used here, the result is really unique. The total absence of color breaks by the colorful flower bouquet in the table and the presence of the gold inside the Tom Dixon's pendant lights (1.Beat Light Fat, 2.Beat Light Tall) which fit perfect to the space.

Do you like black & white combination? Take a look in this apartment... You will love it!!!

Home Office

A really inspired home office. Even if you believe that you don't have enough space in your home to create an office, there is always  a corner to put it. Here, we have an alternative construction, created by old wood and pipes, which is used as a commode or a desk in the back of the couch, in the living room's center.

Moroccan dining with a modern touch

A really modern aspect of a dining room in a classic Moroccan space. The dining room table was made by a raw wood, from an old tree trunk, and its free shape strikes a balance with the perfectly symmetrical design of the hand made floor tiles. The white Eames chairs come to give some light to the room's dark atmosphere of mystery!
