Rose Quartz & Serenity - Pantone Color of the Year 2016

For first time, the blending of two shades - Rose Quartz & Serenity are chosen as the Pantone Color of the year. Joined together those two colors demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

It 's a wonderful color combination for a romantic wedding or for the decoration of a living room or a bedroom, giving it an extra romantic and girly touch. It fits perfectly with copper, pink gold, grey brown, white, lavender, pistachio and all the natural shades of wood...

Marsala - Pantone Color of the Year 2015

Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this hearty yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors. Dramatic and at the same time grounding, the rich and full-bodied red-brown Marsala brings color warmth into home interiors. Marsala is the color of the year 2015, recommended by Pantone.

Plan an escape in...

...Nisyros, where a special house cough my eye!!! You can't but fall in love with this house by the first sight, as it excuses a warm and elegant air from the past.

It's about a 1890's residence's restoration, where the architect and owner George Koukourakis showed a great respect for its history maintaining its main characteristics. These are the original 1890 cement tile flooring which is dominant in the majority of the house's spaces, the vivid palette of colors used on the walls, the traditional wooden ceiling panelling and the wooden openings.

As far as the house's decoration there is an adorable mix of past and future. Old pendant lights are present to every room, an old console welcomes the visitor in the entrance and some meters away they are standing an elaborate stove, an antique mirror and other excellent pieces of another era. All those decorative items and furniture combined perfectly with some vintage pieces or a set of modern tulip table and chairs.

My favorite room is the lemony painted kitchen with its custom made old style cupboards in my beloved color of mint!

Flowers everywhere

Happy April my friends! Everything around us are blooming, sun is shining and this season nature is at its best. This is the right time for us to add a piece of nature in our homes... Fill your space with the vibrant colors and the fragrances of Spring and let yourselves live in a happy interior!!!

Rustic house with ethnic touches

This is a really cozy place to spent your weekends.... A traditional construction with bold stone walls, build-in bathroom equipment and beds (ohhh.... I love so much the bedroom of the 6th photo) and off course an enormous fireplace in the living room that offers its warmth into the space during the cold days and nights!

Look at that amazing hanging chair near the fireplace... It looks so comfortable and inviting! I'd like sitting there right now!!!

What I like also with this house is the vivid colors used in throws, pillows and towels which create a very interesting contrast with the natural colors used in the construction and the furnishings.

Colourful Home in Symi

An old house in Symi was transformed into a wonderful summer home for a family from abroad. The combination of the stone walls with the pastel colors and the cotto tiles on the floor make it a unique destination for the summer holidays!

Jielde Lamps

Create happy interiors with the help of a Jielde lamp... They are produced in any color you can imagine, so as they fit in almost any style of  decoration! I adore those articulated floor lamps... I think it would be perfect for my living room!

If you want to buy one, you can find them here.

Kid's Room: Happy Walls

Make your kid's room a dreamy place, by painting a wall with the hero or the scenery of your kid's favorite fairytale, movie or theme and help them encourage their imagination by living in a unique room which fits their own personality, full of vivid colors and happy drawings on the walls.

Amazing Rural House

In French Dordogne, in the Aquitaine region, there is a wonderful rural housing that smells Spring, as its every single corner even the majority of furniture are painted in white.

In order to break the monochrome which is ruling and give some liveliness to the spaces, the owner has chosen to add some touches of extra vivid colors. He used bubblegum pink, blue and lime green to add a pop touch and some black combined with gold to give more elegance.

The "game" of mix and match of furniture (my loved one), pieces and materials of different styles and eras -industrial and avant-garde elements with some more classical lines- has an amazing and playful result.

Kids Room: DIY swinging bed

What a clever idea! May be the perfect DIY project of the weekend which could make so happy your children... With a simple pallet, some rope, one or more blanket mattresses and a lot of colorful pillows you can create a lovely swinging bed in your kid's room.

I can't imagine a child that wouldn't love to have one in its room!!!

Colorful & Bright

In a total white background, in order to help the space fills with the day light, dare to use accessories in vivid colors so as to help you get ride of your bad mood every time you don't feel so good! Don't be afraid to combine a lot of colors in decorative pillows, carpets, vases, pots, candlesticks or frames.... The result would be to create a happy space with pop design.
See a colorful apartment here and there.

Winery Guest House

In the Hourglass vineyards in the Napa Valley, an old farmhouse oh the 1850's has been preserved by the owners in a very "gently" way. The interior of the house (both walls and floor) has been painted totally in white, helping it to be extremely bright. The decoration is as simple as a house in the countryside needs to be, mixing a lot of handcrafted pieces, with thrifty-shop finds and a lot of old furniture that was in the garage of the owners for ages!

I like the wood paneled walls of the living room and the dining (pictures 4 & 5), the stripped black & white rugs (pictures 4 & 5), the tolix chairs (picture 5), the bench in the master bedroom covered with the colorful strip rug (picture 6), the sheepskin throw and the rustic grainsack pillow which ornate the wrought-iron bed (picture 7) and finally the glass vases foul of hydrangeas in almost every room of the house.

A vivid space with touches of playful colors.

I love so much to sit on the floor and those kilim floor cushions encourage me to do it.

You can see more orange here and there.

Colorful Apartment

For another time, we see the combination of different styles. This time we have a colorful combination of two extremely different styles. Modern chair and side table with my big love, which is nothing other than a wonderful Chinese hand-painted cabinet. I really adore the coexistence of turquoise and fuchsia touches in total white background.

Keep in touch to see the whole apartment which is fabulous!!!

Life Full of Colors
