Japandi Style

If Scandinavian decoration attracts you but you feel that you would like some extra soul into your space, then the Japandi style is what you are searching for!

The Japandi term was born from the contraction of the words Japan and Scandi and it reflects the successful mix of these two beloved styles of decoration. It's about a clever mix between the Scandinavian way of life and Japanese aesthetics. The use of neutral colors, natural materials and functional furniture with organic shapes offers a warm atmosphere and bring pleasure and calmness to the senses.

My home's renovation...

This is the season that every year I am in the mood of making some changes on my home's decoration... Especially this year, the desire for changes was more intense for me.

So, I was planning some changes in the color of the walls, some addings in the furniture or rearranging the decoration of some spaces.

Firstly, I wanted so much to renovate my bedroom giving it a romantic accent and making it more cozy and hospitable... and then I felt that it was the right time to put some fresh air in my living room. The space where we spend many hours each day...
I was really happy when I discovered Photowall Sweden, where I found out the perfect wallpapers for my home.

I chose a romantic vintage floral wallpaper for the bedroom, which fits perfectly with the decoration of the room and a watercolor like wallpaper in green hues for the living room, which totally matched with the ethnic pendant lights and the rustic coffe table.

I am so excited with the result!!! I had never put up a wallpaper before, but the video tutorial and the clear instructions helped me get the perfect result.
If you like it too and you are in the mood for some changes in your home's decoration, you can now take your own Photowall wallpapers with an  exclusive discount of 25% on their complete selection, using the code ideabygs2021, for a whole month, as much as you want!!

Botanic Living

Lately, the trend in interior design takes inspiration from nature and adds a sense of sophisticated style in any room. As it is well known, plants not only create a chic and homey feel to the interior but many of them actually improve air quality, as they are removing harmful toxins and increase the humidity and the oxygen levels.

This is the best time of the year to add some greenery into your house... Check out the easiest indoor plants to keep alive and try to make your home a little bit more green.

Mid Century Beauties

It's about a style that culminated in the middle of the last century with so many fans... Even thought, they have been several decades since then, it managed to stay always updated and to adjust with the current trends of design.

Hillside Apartment

Located in London, this wonderful apartment was designed by Turner Pocock. Inspired by the large garden in front of the property and the natural light which invades from the enormous windows, the design based on a natural scheme with layers of green throughout, using a mix of new and old, luxurious and industrial furniture and fixings, creating a fresh eclectic interior...

Round coffee tables

The latest trend in the decoration of a living room and one of my favorites is the round coffee tables... The best decision is to instal a group of two or three small round tables of different size, height and style. I adore the combination of a central round coffee table with the mix of a wooden stool and a tree trunk...

Red brick walls add always a unique charm to modern home interiors, creating a dramatic and sophisticated result. They bring a bohemian touch into modern spaces decorated in vintage style, letting us feel like we are in a NewYork loft...

Bright Rooms with Indoor Plants

Each time I enter a bright place I possessed with a feeling of peace and tranquillity... It' s so nice to see the sun light invade the space and brighten every single nook while it creates wonderful shadows on the wall and the floor.

My dream is to have in the future a bright home with wide windows and a lot of indoor plants, as I feel that they give life in their surroundings with their vivid colors while they purify the air of the space...

Leather couch in the living room

Leather is one of my favorite materials for the decoration of a space... I love it most as  years pass by and they leave their mark on it! I adore the leather couches with the brown cigar color as I think that they can easily fit to the most of decorative styles.

Fireplaces you'll love

As today the temperature is around 0 degrees and it is snowing even in the centre of Athens, the only thing I could think of is the warmth of a fireplace, some cozy blankets and fluffy faux fur throws which transform couches into an earthly paradise, ideal to snuggle on them for hours while drinking a  delicious hot chocolate and enjoying the white snowy view from the windows...

Home sweet home

Maybe this is the first foto of my home published on the blog, except some of my plants in the balcony or some Christmas decorations...

I really love this detail in the entrance of my home!!! A group of beloved items decorate the old renovated console which I found about two years ago in the street, in an extremely bad condition and now it consists an eye candy in my living room ... I will say about this in another post.

Now I would like to introduce you those beloved items. The set of the mini white bell and vase from porcelain and silver is a memorabilia from my mother's-in-law wedding and the silver frame which hosts my favorite quote is a gift from my wedding! The bottle in aqua color is the latest addition in the group, bought from an amazing shop in Leros island during our holidays there!

Unique Side Tables

In the magic world of design, side tables can be considered as the "little heroes"... Their presence in the space is extremely discreet but their contribution in our everyday life is priceless! And if we pay attention in their choice and their decoration, we can create a simply unique eye catching side table like those of the photos.

An Art Wall in your Living Room

Whatever the style of your living room is, an Art Wall behind your couch is a must! Even if you can afford buy some pieces of art or create them by your own hands the result will be really unique... A wall filled with paintings, patterns, images, quotes, old movies posters or everything else you would like, combined with similar frames in size and colors, all put together, will create the centre of your living room's interest! Here you can find a lot of inspiration for your own Art Wall...

Let it snow!!!

In the middle  of an idyllic landscape covered with a blanket of snow, this wooden house consists the perfect refuge during cold winter days... What I loved most about this house is the warmth that exudes as the main material of its construction is the wood. I like the wood paneled walls painted in dark colors, the open beamed ceilings and then the recycled flooring and the imposing open stone fireplace mentioning to another era! A modern contrast is created by the simple metallic construction for log storage by the fireplace, the leather couches, the cement countertop in the kitchen and the contemporary spot lightning. I really would like sitting by this amazing fireplace covered with  a warm blanket and enjoying the snowy landscape drinking a cup of tea with honey and cinnamon...

A home perfectly decorated for Christmas

I really adored this living room from the first sight ! It's so perfectly decorated for my favorite season of the year…of course Christmas!!! I love the enormous illuminated christmas tree, filled with hundreds of twinkle lights that looks so magestic during the night and the double sided stone fireplace with its inspired decoration.

And...of course I believe in Santa (photo 1 & 5)!!! :) I 'm waiting for my gifts!

I imagine myself hanging out on that cozy leather couch, enjoying the fireplace's warmth and the atmospheric light of the christmas tree, drinking some hot aromatic gluhwein!

Fluffy Living Rooms

As the weather becomes colder and colder each day, we all have the need for create a cozy and warm atmosphere inside our homes! I really love the warmth offered in a living room by the use of sheep/cow skins or fluffy long-haired handmade blankets used as carpets (I have a red one in my living room). If you want to add some extra coziness  into your space, you can put a piece of faux fur on your sofa and add some cushions, covered with faux fur too or some knitted warm covers, maybe handmade by yourselves! Believe me... you will transform your living room into a warmth paradise for endless hours of relaxation!!!
