My home's renovation...

This is the season that every year I am in the mood of making some changes on my home's decoration... Especially this year, the desire for changes was more intense for me.
So, I was planning some changes in the color of the walls, some addings in the furniture or rearranging the decoration of some spaces.
Firstly, I wanted so much to renovate my bedroom giving it a romantic accent and making it more cozy and hospitable... and then I felt that it was the right time to put some fresh air in my living room. The space where we spend many hours each day...
I was really happy when I discovered Photowall Sweden, where I found out the perfect wallpapers for my home.
I chose a romantic vintage floral wallpaper for the bedroom, which fits perfectly with the decoration of the room and a watercolor like wallpaper in green hues for the living room, which totally matched with the ethnic pendant lights and the rustic coffe table.
I am so excited with the result!!! I had never put up a wallpaper before, but the video tutorial and the clear instructions helped me get the perfect result.
If you like it too and you are in the mood for some changes in your home's decoration, you can now take your own Photowall wallpapers with an  exclusive discount of 25% on their complete selection, using the code ideabygs2021, for a whole month, as much as you want!!
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!!!

DIY: Designing Monograms

For a long time, I wanted to design our monograms in order to decorate with them our headboard wall in our bedroom, but there was lack of time! So, those days that I am relaxing at home, I found the time and the inspiration to complete this diy project. I firstly sketched each monogram in Schoeller paper and then I highlighted it with a black marker. After that, they were ready to be placed on the white frames I had bought for months, for this reason...
Now, they are waiting to find their place on the wall. What do you think? Do you like them?

Anemones in my home

Although today the weather looks much more like autumn than spring, cause of incessant rain, I am in a totally Spring mood as I had to do some shopping for the Easter decorations of a shop... After my search for light spring decorations and faux Easter eggs, I found myself in a shop which sells flowers at a wholesale price, in order to find some branches of trees. There, I could not resist to buy a lovely bouquet of a hundred anemones
Oh yes... A hundred anemones which now decorate my living room with their vivid colors, giving a happy note to the space! They really are so beautiful... I tried to get some photos of them but they are a little bit dark cause of the lack of natural light.

The best way to start your week is...enjoying a hot chocolate while you are listening to Christmas music and smelling the fragrances of all the greeneries which decorate your home!!! The greenery composition of the photo is my brother's contribution, in his effort to wish me get better soon, as he knows that I love all those green things with the red touches!!! :)

Home sweet home

Maybe this is the first foto of my home published on the blog, except some of my plants in the balcony or some Christmas decorations...
I really love this detail in the entrance of my home!!! A group of beloved items decorate the old renovated console which I found about two years ago in the street, in an extremely bad condition and now it consists an eye candy in my living room ... I will say about this in another post.
Now I would like to introduce you those beloved items. The set of the mini white bell and vase from porcelain and silver is a memorabilia from my mother's-in-law wedding and the silver frame which hosts my favorite quote is a gift from my wedding! The bottle in aqua color is the latest addition in the group, bought from an amazing shop in Leros island during our holidays there!

New Years Eve on I.De.A's Home

Hello my friends…!!! How are you? Are you preparing for the New Years Eve? What are you planing to do?
Here, in my home, we are preparing a gathering with my family and some friends, in order to welcome the New Year! The "Vasilopita" (the new year's day cake which contains a hidden coin which gives good luck to the receiver) was baked yesterday night and Ι decorated it a moment ago! The  festive dinning table is ready, in a few hour I will have finished cooking and the champagne already  chills in the refrigerator… I hope everything will be perfect this night! I just want to see my beloved ones happy and start all together a New Amazing Year better than the previous which was hard enough for the majority in Greece and for me personally.
I wish you a Happy New Year!!! Have fun!!!

A basil pot on my table

Well, this is my brand new basil pot, gift from our nephew's christening!!! It was decorating the table in the reception... From now on it will prettify my balcony's table standing near my beloved pot of succulents and that small pot of tiny ivy, giving us its wonderful fragrances every day! Thank you Elen for the gift!!!

The fragrances of Spring

Today, my living room flooded by the sweet fragrances of lilacs... I love so much their aroma, as it brings to my mind sweet memories of past Easter days when I made with my mother big bouquets of lilacs and white lilies from our garden, in order to decorate our living room. So, yesterday when I visited my family home I couldn't resist making a similar bouquet of those lovely flowers for my home!!!

Christmas Countdown - 11 days

Today, I'm gonna show you my home's Christmas decoration! As I have said you in a previous post, my favorite colors for Christmas is the combination of red, pine green and gold of course! So, everything is decorated in those tree colors; the Christmas tree is full of glass and papier mache balls, little stars, angels, handmade ornaments and some sweets. The lanterns beside the door are simply decorated with some festive ribbons and near them, there are some handmade (by me) garlands and bulbs hanging from the ceiling. And then, a simple and so easy to made festive centerpiece (a glass vase full of pine cones and in its base a Christmas wreath, all made by me too...) decorates the dining table. And what about my little sweet Santa over the closet who wants desperetely to see some snow during Christmas? :)
Now, I feel ready to start tomorrow the preparations for some Christmas sweets... I'm planning to make the traditional greek melomakarona, kourampiedes (the two most consumed sweets during holidays in Greece) and some Christmas gingerbread cookies!!! Mmm... I can't wait! I adore the time of sweets' preparation as the house is filled with amazing smells!
What do you plan for the weekend?
