Plan a Christmas escape in...

Although it's the last day of November, here the weather is still warm enough and the sun shines! Nonetheless, my mind is daydreaming of cosy country guest houses with unobstructed views of snowy landscapes and an enormous fireplace which warms up the space... 

A place like this, is Teresa Country Lodge, in Eptalofos village near mount Parnassos. It's about a traditionally built stone guest house with wooden additions, which features tastfully  decorated rooms with fireplace and views of the mountain and the garden.

Oh... I really would like to spend a couple of days there, during Christmas period, in order to "fill my batteries" and relax...   

Plan an escape in... Critamo Cottage

Critamo Cottage is a 200 years old Cretan house, located near the historic town of Chania.... It is built at the beginning of the Ottoman conquest in 1724 and since then passed from father to sun. Now, after its restoration, it has been transformed into a wonderful guest house which can accomodate up to five persons.

It' s about a unique traditional cretan building with exposed stone walls, arches, wooden coloured windows and a spacious yard with trees and flowers...

Its name "Critamo" is borrowed from the homonymous herb, well known in Crete, rich in vitamin C and mineral content, used in herbal medicine...

Orloff Resort

In the Old Port of the cosmopolitan Spetses island, the heart of its historical tradition where the visitor can wander through the old marvelous mansions, there is situated Orloff Resort. This guest house was born with the aim of creating a unique space for mind relaxation and rest of the body! 

Ohh... I would like so much to spend a couple of days in that wonderful resort!!!

Winery Guest House

In the Hourglass vineyards in the Napa Valley, an old farmhouse oh the 1850's has been preserved by the owners in a very "gently" way. The interior of the house (both walls and floor) has been painted totally in white, helping it to be extremely bright. The decoration is as simple as a house in the countryside needs to be, mixing a lot of handcrafted pieces, with thrifty-shop finds and a lot of old furniture that was in the garage of the owners for ages!

I like the wood paneled walls of the living room and the dining (pictures 4 & 5), the stripped black & white rugs (pictures 4 & 5), the tolix chairs (picture 5), the bench in the master bedroom covered with the colorful strip rug (picture 6), the sheepskin throw and the rustic grainsack pillow which ornate the wrought-iron bed (picture 7) and finally the glass vases foul of hydrangeas in almost every room of the house.

Hats for the Guests

Don't forget to wear your hat before you go to the beach.....

 It would be so kind to have some spare for your guests, in case they don't have one!

In addition, they could be an exceptional decoration for the entrance's wall.

Ώρα για ένα ακόμη ταξίδι στο υπέροχο Αιγαίο Πέλαγος και πιο συγκεκριμένα στη Σαντορίνη, κάτω από το καμπαναριό των Αγίων Αναργύρων στο Μεγαλοχώρι, όπου μια υπέροχη villa, μας περιμένει να την απολαύσουμε. Στο εσωτερικό κυριαρχεί η αιγαιοπελαγίτικη απλότητα. Χτιστά κρεββάτια, πεζούλια και μπανιέρα, επενδεδυμένα με χρωματιστό κονίαμα. Λιτές γραμμές και ελάχιστα έπιπλα, τα απολύτως απαραίτητα για να εξυπηρετήσουν τις ανάγκες του χρήστη.

Sicily Guest House

Σήμερα, θα πάμε ένα ταξιδάκι μέχρι τη Σικελία, για να επισκεφθούμε την 

Casa Talia, έναν ξενώνα στην ιστορική πόλη Modica. Ο ξενώνας αποτελείται από ένα σύνολο μικρών αναπαλαιωμένων κατοικιών, τα οποία βρίσκονται σκαρφαλωμένα σε διαφορετικά επίπεδα του φυσικού εδάφους.

 Η αναπαλαίωση έγινε με απόλυτο σεβασμό στα υλικά και την αρχική μορφή των κτιρίων. Αναδείχθηκαν με μοναδικό τρόπο οι πέτρινες τοιχοποιίες και
