Reindeer decorating pillows

This winter/Christmas, I have been obsessed with various things... At first, it was my obsession with those tiny, extra cute bottle brush mini trees. Then, came my love about clay & balsa wood which led me to make handmade charms about my loved ones. And last but not least is my love at first sight with those wonderful reindeer decorating pillows... I'm too glad that I acquired recently two adorable reindeer pillows (just like this of the second photo) for my sofa. Every night I'm looking at them so happy! I feel like I have two real adorable reinders in my living room...

Handmade ice lanterns & wreaths

This is one of my favoutite diy projects! I learned about it in my journey in Rovaniemi, back in 2004. Ohh...It was such a wonderful experience! Like a Christmas fairy tale...
What I loved there from the first minute, were the ice sculptures that were placed everywhere in the city and they were really magnificent especially during the night (which is so long there this season) that they were illuminated with coloured lights.
After that, I was excited when we lighted up the tea light of our first ice lantern & we created an ice Christmas wreath... It was just wonderful to create those tiny ice objects in some minutes, leaving the mold with the water outside (the temperature was lower of the freezer) in order to freeze.

Sunday Morning Tales

Last Sunday of the year today... and the only I would like to have, is a couple of days to spend them with my man snuggled up in a cabin, where all we do is walking in the snowy forest, making makeshift ice candle holders, reading, listening to the music and relaxing by the warmth of the fireplace, drinking a cup of hot chocolate or eating a delicious piece of chocolate whiskey cake...

Handmade charms by I.De.A

Every year, we use to gift charms in order to wish each other a lucky new year...
This year, I decided to give a more personal touch to the charms I would gift to my beloved ones, creating my own designs. So, I used balsa wood, air dry clay, acrilyc colours, markers, gold dust, ribbons, small tassels, tiny bells and of course "2016" golden numbers to create my lucky charms for the 2016. These days I've started to gift them to my loved ones with my warmest wishes for a happy new year full of love and health!

Merry Christmas

This Christmas mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keer a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first on someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Speak your love and then speak it again.

Glimmering houses - part 2

Tiny lantern houses are really in my heart... I think that they constitute a unique decorative accent which add  a dreamy air to the space, especially when they are grouped. Personally, I could gaze for hours at them while daydreaming of fairy little cabins at the top of a snowy mountain.
Find here some extra yummy & cute gingerbread houses.

Sunday Morning Tales

It's only 5 days until Christmas and it is a really wonderful sunny day, although it's freezing... So, it is a good occassion to enjoy, with the younger members of the family, a walk to the mountain in order to pick some fresh greeneries for our homes' decorations... I love so much the smell of the freshly cut greeneries such as pine or schinus!
Then, after the walk in the freezing countryside, a glass of warm gluhwein it would be a kind of balm near the fireplace

Give a festive note into your bedroom too... It's so nice to spread the Christmas feeling all over your home!  Use greeneries, fluffy throws, christmas decorative pillows, linens in deep red shades, aromatic candles (my favorite for christmas is cinnamon) and you 'll turn your bedroom into a really cozy and relaxing space...

Sunday Morning Tales

Happy Sunday...!!! It's about two weeks before Christmas and the festive preparations are in progress...
Our homes are already decorated, we are thinking for the presents we 'll buy or make for our beloved ones and those days festive smells will flood our homes as we will bake traditional Christmas sweets!
Oh... I really love this period! I love the evening gatherings around the fireplace with a cup of  aromatic tea (I like apple-cinnamon) and a slice of chocolate bundt cake with orange and rosemary, while a natural air freshner will make home smell like Christmas!!!

Jewelry's Christmas decorations by I.De.A

Previous week was pretty busy and creative as my schedule was full of Christmas shopping and diy decorative constructions for the seasonal decorations of a jewelry shop. The colours we choose this year for the decorations, were white and gold with touches of deep red.
My new addiction is the bottle brush miniature christmas trees... I can't explain how much I love them!!! So, I managed to integrate them in this year's decorations, creating mini snowy landscapes between the jewelry. Then, in a recess of a wall I created a miniature snowy hillside with those lovely mini trees of different sizes, some miniature Faberge houses, mini benches and some extra cute street lighting decorated with christmas wreaths.

Tiny Contemporary Apartment

This tiny yet so cute apartment of 40sm, is located in the region of ancient Kiev. After its renovation by Elena Fateeva, the apartment was transformed into a dreamy space of contemporary design with a vintage appeal due to its off white brick walls in the living room.... Although its small size, it looks like a spacious apartment due to the correct space utilization.

Add some geometry on your Christmas tree

Last years, geometrical shapes such as rectangle, triangle, circle or diamond shape have invade into fashion, especially into the jewelry design. This year those shapes constitue a must in the Christmas decorations.
Inspired by the Finnish traditional Himmeli, which is an ornament made of straw and is hunging from the ceiling during Christmas season, geometrical ornaments are a wonderful alternative for a totally hipster decoration...

Mantels decorated for Christmas

These festive days everyone need for warmth and hospitality... We all love the warmth of a mantel or a fireplace, so as to relax near by, drinking a hot chocolate or a glass of wine. In every living room which features one, it always becomes the centerpiece of the space, combined with the christmas tree and all the decorations relolve around it, giving the space extra coziness...
