A nice idea for enjoying a cup of tea outside with friends a cold day of winter. A lot of comfortable chairs with a sheep skin in each one to keep you warm, placed cyclical around the hemispheric metallic fireplace. And....as a side table what else than a raw tree stump of course!

Midweek Break
When your mind is really tired of the daily problems, the best treatment is a walk near the sea or in the countryside. As I love so much the sea and the weather was warm enough and sunny (for late October), I decided yesterday going for a walk in a neighboring beach (after the encouragement of a good friend) so as to recharge my batteries and come back stronger. Νature can cure everything in a magical way....!!! The only thing you have to do is let your mind free, gazing the view, hearing the sounds around you and taking deep breath filling you lungs with fresh air. Ohh, I really feel brand new! :)

Nordic Coziness
I like when interiors can catch the eye with just a simple but yet inspired design. The white bold fireplace's wall with its grey cement projections becomes milder with the use of an extreme fluffy carpet in the floor, warm furry pillows and a tree stump coffee table. I imagine myself sitting on the carpet, drinking a cup of hot chocolate, enjoying the warmth of the fire and knitting!

Sunday Morning Tales
Mountaintop monastery in the mist built in a gigantic rock raise, creates a spectacle which might be unique worldwide. It is one of the 24 monasteries that were built in similar rocks in the area by the monks settled there from the 11th century. They are located in Meteora, Greece and they are included in the Monuments of world cultural Heritage by U.N.E.S.C.O. One of the must see places in the world....

Kitchen: Raw & Rustic
Another rustic kitchen, as I know how much you like it, but this time is extremely different. It is designed in a modern basis, equipped with all stainless steel modern appliances but it is constructed with materials mentioning rustic, as rough raw planking for the cupboards and cement in the counter top and the floor as well. The rustic attitude strengthened by the marble sink and the wooden ceiling. The atmosphere becomes more dramatic with the use of black color in the walls, the old golden frame over the sink and the two industrial ceiling lights.

DIY: Writing Desk
Here is a wonderful idea on how you can create an office furniture which will impresses everyone without spending a lot of money. The only things you need are an old wooden door in order to use it as desktop and some wooden storage or wholesale crates and concrete blocks to use them as desktop basis. Your desk is ready in a very simple and cheap way!!! Now you have to put your imagination in order to make your own combinations as concern the materials and the colors you will use, so as your desk fits to your home's style. The only thing you have to buy is a chair or a stool.... I would propose a tolix chair or stool which fit perfect to that kind of desk. I found also very inspired the idea of using patterns as a wallpaper; you could use also old newspapers or every kind of paper or photo you like.

Coffee Table: Tree Trunk
Now that winter is just around the corner, we all stock firewood to be ready for the cold days. Have you ever thought that a tree stump can also have other uses in a home? Look at that beautiful and inspired tree trunk coffee table to get an idea of how you can use it as a furniture... Reclaimed tree trunks are increasingly becoming one of my favorite materials to decorate with, as they are so environment friendly, so easy to find no matter where you are, but also extremely beautiful and versatile as well!
Do you like tree trunk coffee table? See another one here.
note: If the stump has a small diameter, you can add a glass top in order to provide more space.

Kyrimai Hotel
An impressive tower encounters historical sites and relics. Stone stairs lead to cliffs where the Ionian meets the Aegean Sea. It's about Kyrimai Hotel located in Gerolimenas a picturesque small coastal village of the Mani, in the Peloponnese, Greece. This luxurious, yet traditional hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of Europe, because of its particular history of the 19th century, when the tower and the wine warehouse became a point of maritime trade between Syros island and Marseille. Now the renovated space is a friendly hotel which consists of cozy rooms with magnificent sea view. For the decoration of the space which respects the tradition of Mani have been used warm traditional furnishings, earthy colors and cool linen fabrics combined with all modern facilities. The stone, wood and fireplaces in all rooms of the hotel, transforms it in the ultimate romantic destination, a feeling that strengthens by the unique architecture of Mani's settlements and the area's Byzantine grandeur.

Bathroom: Free Standing Tubs
Are you tired of your old bathroom, and thinking about remodeling? What is your opinion about freestanding tubs? They are my favorites as I believe that they give a unique character in the bathroom. Whether your personal style is traditional or modern, you must be sure that you'll find something that appeals to you! Freestanding tubs are meant to be proudly displayed rather than crowded in a corner....So
install them away from the wall, or even in the middle of a room. They will be unique.... If your bathroom has a big enough window put your tub in front of it so as to enjoy the great view each time you are bathing! I am already thinking myself having a bubble bath, in the tub of the 3rd photo, hearing my favorite music and gazing this stunning view!!! What is your favorite???

Exquisite Surfaces
A residence designed in an absolutely modern Architecture, where concrete and glass are the main materials, can easily turn into a very cozy and warm home. By using furniture in earthy colors and adding touches of a warm color as the orange in accessories, you will create a nest of relaxation! I like the bookshelves near the concrete fireplace, the bold marble furniture (coffee table, side table and console), the Barcelona chairs and ottoman and this marvelous handmade carpet.

Fireplace: Wood Storage
As we are already in the middle of the Autumn (even if here, in Greece we have still Summer temperatures) we have to be prepared for the cold days of the Winter. Now, it' s the right time for us to stock wood for our fireplaces. But where are we store them? Maybe somewhere outside in the garden, in the garage or in a warehouse... Have you ever thοught put them inside the house, in a special place near the fireplace? It seems to me a good idea, as it would be a wonderful decoration for the room and you will avoid going out each time you would like to kindle the fireplace. Here are some ideas for the indoor wood storage!
Stay tuned to see much more wood storage ideas the next days...!!!

Kitchen
A simple contemporary kitchen, enriched with classical pieces of famous designers, give a special result. I like a lot the double row of white cupboards which they serve two purposes; The aesthetic, because they give the impression that the room has high ceiling and the practical as they offer much more storage. The brown row of cupboards "breaks" the white monotony of the space and then the brown-beige patterned tiles unify perfectly the cupboards of different colors.
Very interesting is the dining area with the Eames' white Eiffel chairs, Tulip Inspired Table and the Tom Dixon's Copper Shade pendant light, which allows you to see in it the whole room from its highly reflective surface.

Modern Apartment in Brazil
Modern, bright and airy could be the right words to describe this apartment located in Brazil. Its design is based in fresh ideas, using clear lines in construction and furniture so as to have a modern result. The main colors used here-white, grey and beige-in combination with the high ceiling in the living room give the impression that the apartment is bigger enough from its original scheme. The enormous floor to ceiling window let the natural light invade the space and highlight the carefully chosen elements placed on that huge and tall storage wall which is also a light divider between living room and working area! The "monotony" of neutral white, grey and beige breaks with the use of some decorative objects and furniture in black or extremely vivid colors as fuchsia or orange. A brilliant idea is the use of a colorful combination of tiles in various models and colors that creates an interactive and funny space in the minimalist kitchen.

Sunday Morning Tales
A dreamy place for waking up a Sunday morning....!!! A bedroom situated in a glass shelter which will protect you by the weather and the low temperatures but it allows you to feel like you have gone for camping. Imagine to wake up while the sun rises and gives its magical colors to the sky and the lake's water with the morning fog whilst you can hear the day's firsts sounds of the nature and smell the moisture in the plants and the ground! May I have this magic place for a few days pleeeease?
